Mercedes-Benz has a long history of building large family estate cars. The current generation Mercedes E-Class Estate is the latest in that lineage, and locks horns with esteemed rivals such as the Audi A6 Avant and BMW 5 Series Touring.
Inside, you get plenty of room for the family, and the interior is a thoroughly modern and stylish place to spend time. That’s in part down to the range of high-tech equipment, which either comes as standard, or is on the extensive options list.
Two engines are available: the four-cylinder diesel’s low CO2 emissions make it great for company car drivers, while the smooth six-cylinder diesel offers strong performance.
Read on to find out what the E-Class Estate is like to drive, how it compares with the competition, and which engines and trims we would recommend.
