The Mercedes EQC is beautifully appointed and brilliant if you want to maximise the peace and quiet offered by going electric (it really is hushed on the move). It's generally comfortable on motorways but doesn't ride or handle as well as a BMW iX3 or Jaguar I-Pace, or match them when it comes to range.
The trimSee full equipment
Entry-level Sport trim is reasonably well equipped. As standard you get 19in alloys, LED headlights, keyless go, privacy glass, ambient lighting, four-way lumbar adjustment, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, blind spot monitoring, Artico (man-made) leather, twin 10.25in displays for the dials and infotainment system, climate control and heated front seats. You can't add many options, though.

You certainly won’t have any complaints about its acceleration, because the EQC can hit 62mph from a standstill in just 5.1 seconds. That makes it faster than most hot hatchbacks or, more to the point, an Audi e-tron. The I-Pace and Tesla Model X are faster still, but you’d have to be a real speed freak to care.The EQC achieved 208 miles on a full charge in our Real Range tests — the Tesla Model X managed 233 miles, the Audi E-tron 196 miles, an the Jaguar I-Pace 253 miles.
