Review

The Mini Clubman’s an entertaining car for those looking for cutsie looks, lots of customisation, and a smart, funky interior. It's also reasonably practical, but if you value tidy handling then choose an Audi A3 instead, or if a smooth ride is your thing, a Volkswagen Golf of Mercedes A-Class.

Trim: Cooper Exclusive

The Exclusive comes with luxuries such as leather seats and the top-end infotainment system, but it's not worth the additonal cost.

Engine: 1.5

Offer the best balance of costs and performance in the range. It's claimed to manage up to 44.1mpg with reasonable CO2 emissions, and will get you from 0-62mph in 9.2sec. The three-cylinder 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol is very quiet, too.
