This is the cheapest version of our favourite Mini, but still offers a fair amount of kit including 15in alloy wheels, LED front and rear lights, auto lights and wipers, a 6.5in infotainment controlled by a rotary dial, Bluetooth, a DAB radio and a multi-function steering wheel. Add an option pack or two, and it’s all you need.
The Cooper's engine is smooth, exceptionally quiet and, with maximum torque – or pulling power – available from just 1250rpm, makes it very easy to maintain swift, relaxed progress.
