The Mitsubishi L200 is a well-priced pick-up truck that, in Double Cab form, offers much of the practicality of an SUV, with a huge load bay that can carry up to a tonne of cargo.
It’s unusual in offering switchable four-wheel drive, which allows it to take advantage of fuel economy savings by using rear-drive mode only, while still being able to grapple over tricky terrain by driving all four wheels on demand. There’s also a low range gearbox and a differential lock for when the going gets really tough.
The L200’s engine is available in two power outputs, and there’s a choice of three cab styles offering two, four or five seats. Read on over the next few pages to get our in depth impressions, along with our recommendations for which of those cab levels and engine outputs to choose.
