Used Mitsubishi Shogun 2006-present review

2014 Mitsubishi Shogun Barbarian review
Review continues below...

What alternatives should I consider to a used Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4?

The Kia Sorento is a large SUV with seven seats and plenty of room inside. It’s spacious, practical and the 2.2-litre diesel engine is a strong performer. It’s a much more road-biased car than the Shogun, with a much more comfortable interior and a superior ride.

The Toyota Land Cruiser has been around, like the Shogun, since the time of Abraham, and is a very capable and reliable on and off-road machine. It’s a tough, go-anywhere sort of car, with a versatile interior and legendary reliability. Like the Shogun, driving pleasure and refinement aren’t its strongest cards.

The Shogun is rugged, reliable and pretty good off-road, but on the road it feels many years out of date

  • Genuine off-road ability
  • Plenty of space inside
  • Good reliability
  • Cumbersome handling
  • Dated interior
  • Incredibly unrefined
