The 2012 Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been unveiled, with a range of changes designed to keep the 33-year old model up to date.
External updates for the 2012 G-Class include new LED daytime running lights, door mirrors, bumpers and grille. Red brake callipers and 20-inch alloys are now available as options.
Inside, the face-lifted model has a new instrument panel and centre console. Theres also a new colour display between the instrument dials, while a large iPad-like colour screen similar to the one in the new B-Class has been added to the top of the dashboard.
A new infotainment system includes a voice-operated control system and Bluetooth connectivity. New optional extras include Blind Spot Assist, Distronic Plus cruise control and Parktronic with reversing camera.
The G350 Bluetec model has a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine and revised seven-speed automatic gearbox. The new G63 AMG replaces the current G55 AMG model it has a twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 petrol engine.
The 2012 G-Class goes on sale in the autumn. UK pricing and specifications are yet to be confirmed, but wed expect an increase on the current models prices, so figures of around 83,000 for the G350 Bluetec and 119,000 for the G63 AMG are likely.
