The Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 CDTi Ecoflex start/stop has been updated, with tweaks to improve fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. It now averages 85.6mpg and emits just 88g/km of CO2.
The new Corsa Ecoflex's figures represent a 2.4mpg improvement in average economy and a 6g/km reduction in CO2 emissions compared with those of the current car. These improvements are the result of changes including an upgraded oil pump, special transmission oil, and engine mapping tweaks.
The Corsa Ecoflex now gets closer to matching the Kia Rio 1.1 CRDi Ecodynamics model, which averages 88.3mpg and emits 85g/km of CO2.
There are also improvements to the entire Corsa range, including a new range of manual transmissions designed to provide smoother gearshifts.
All Corsas apart from VXR Nurburgring models have updated suspension settings, too. Vauxhall says the changes are designed to improve ride comfort 'especially on rough roads and in urban areas at low speeds'.
