Join What Car? for an exclusive preview of the new Citroën C3 Aircross small SUV on Wednesday 23 August 2017 in the London area.

This year, the excellent Citroën C3 Picasso MPV will say its goodbyes, to be replaced by the more SUV-like C3 Aircross. It's evident on first sight that the C3 Aircross is one of the new generation of Citroëns, with its chunky body, plastic lower body cladding, 'squircle' design scheme and thin daytime running lights above and seperated from the headlights. And it's highly customisable: there are 90 personalisation possibilities for the exterior alone.

On the mechanical side of things, the C3 Aircross is built on the same platform as the new three-star Vauxhall Crossland X. Its available engines are a 1.6-litre diesel with 88bhp, 98bhp or 128bhp and a 1.2 petrol with 80bhp, 108bhp or 128bhp. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard and automatic is an option on the higher-powered motors.

Four-wheel drive isn't available, but the C3 Aircross does have a grip control system that comprises intelligent traction control, all-weather tyres and four driving modes for different terrains.

Inside, Citroën says the C3 Aircross's head room and boot are class-leading. There are also other family-friendly features and plenty of storage. In the centre of the dashboard is a 7.0in infotainment touchscreen.

Safety systems include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and blindspot monitoring.

There is no official word on the price of the C3 Aircross yet, but they are expected to start at around £16,000.

So, if you're interested in this practical new small SUV, why not come along and tell us what you think? At the event, you'll get a close-up look of the C3 Aircrosss and a Q&A opportunity with the Citroën team, before being interviewed for our magazine and website.
