Kia Stinger

Join What Car? for an exclusive preview of the new Kia Stinger on Wednesday 19 July 2017 in Walton-upon-Thames, Surrey.

If you're in the market for a small but powerful and luxurious executive car, you've probably jumped straight to the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Jaguar XE and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

However, next year Kia will launch its own entry into this class, the Stinger. The Korean brand has grown from an also-ran into a star player in the UK car market in the past decade, but it has failed to dent the executive market with its Ford Mondeo-rivalling Optima.

The Stinger's entry-level engine is a 197bhp 2.2-litre diesel, and above that is a 252bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol. The range is topped by the Stinger GT, which has a 370bhp 3.3-litre petrol V6 and is punchier than the Audi S4.

Both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive models are available, and an eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard. Dynamic suspension, Kia says, will give a comortable yet agile drive.

The Stinger will go on sale in early 2018, costing from around Β£30,000 and up to about Β£42,000 for the hot GT model.

So, if you're looking for a new company car, or perhaps a performance saloon, why not come along and tell us what you think? At the event, you'll get a close-up look of the Stinger and a Q&A opportunity with the Kia team, before being interviewed for our magazine and website.
