Join What Car? for an exclusive preview of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain on Tuesday 4 July 2017 at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey.
The E-Class All-Terrain is an off-road-focused version of the excellent new E-Class Estate, which we love for its class-best-size boot, plush interior and refinement and ride.
Similar to the Audi A6 Allroad and the Volvo V90 Cross Country, these 'soft-road' estates are often seen as alternatives to SUVs.
The E-Class All-Terrain, which will cost from around Β£53,000, gets rugged styling flourishes, including black plastic body cladding around its lower edges, four-wheel drive and adjustable-height air suspension. One engine will be on offer, a 3.0-litre V6 diesel (the E 350 d). It comes with a nine-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
As you'd expect, you also get four-wheel drive, and drivers can choose between five different driving modes, which alter the car's engine, gearbox and steering settings for the best performance. The All-Terrain features an off-road driving mode for better progress (and comfort) away from the Tarmac, which raises the ride height by 20mm for greater ground clearance.
We've already driven the All-Terrain abroad and awarded it a four-star rating, but will you agree?
If you're a Mercedes-Benz fan, looking for a new estate, or need something tough but don't fancy an SUV, why not come along and find out. At the event, you'll get a close-up look of the car and a Q&A opportunity with the Mercedes-Benz team, before being interviewed for the website.
