2017 Skoda Fabia 1.0 TSI

Skoda's new 94bhp turbocharged 1.0 fully deserves its new pick of the range status, proving to be the best balance of performance, economy and cost. However, sporty Monte Carlo trim is less advisable, with SE trim providing all the equipment you need for less money and a with a more comfortable ride on its smaller standard alloy wheels.

Unfortunately it's not enough to take this once overall What Car? Car of The Year back to its five-star status. The new Seat Ibiza has come along and stolen the Fabia's thunder on space and quality, while being considerably better to drive. The Fabia is still one of the very best small cars you can buy then, but after two years of leadership is no longer top of the pile.
