The S63 Cabriolet will be bought by a select few, but Mercedes-AMG has done an excellent job of creating a car that is both comfortable and great to drive when the mood takes you - at least in the 4Matic form we tried.

Of course, at this level, for many it will come down to brand preference - many people might be seduced by Bentley or Aston Martin. But, if that doesn’t bother you, the S63 deserves serious consideration.

However, one thing to bear in mind is the cheaper S560 Cabriolet. At around £116,000 it doesn't handle as well as an S63, but for most it will provide all the agility and comfort you could need, and for a lot less money.
