2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class A250 review – verdict

The A250 is a compelling proposition, offering buyers class-leading technology, a luxurious interior and impressive straight-line performance.

However, all of that comes at a price: the A250 starts at just over £30,000. Factor in some choice options and you’ll be looking at an A-Class that’s getting on for Golf R or Audi S3 money – two cars that are far quicker and more capable than the front-wheel-drive Mercedes.

But if you simply want the poshest and fastest version of the new A-Class and don’t care that it’s not quite as sharp as the competition, you won't be disappointed by the A250.
