At the end of this year, Volkswagen will add a fifth SUV to its range: the T-Cross.

It will sit below the big-selling T-Roc, being a similar size to the Polo hatchback.

This makes the T-Cross a direct rival to the class-leading Seat Arona, as well as models such as the Hyundai Kona and Renault Captur. It will be priced from around £17,000 – slightly more than the Arona and around £4000 more than the Polo.

If you want an idea of the T-Cross's interior, look to the supportive seats, colourful panels and infotainment touchscreen of the T-Roc.

Volkswagen and What Car? have teamed up to offer you a truly exclusive preview of the new small SUV at the firm's factory – a month before it will be unveiled to the public.

We'll fly out from Heathrow Airport (at no cost to you) on the morning of Friday 12 October to have an exclusive hands-on preview of the car – and a Q&A opportunity with the people behind it – at Volkswagen's factory in Wolfsburg, Germany, before returning in the evening.
