2019 Kia Ceed 1.6 T-GDi GT verdict
Those with their hearts set on a truly hot hatch might be left a little cold by the Ceed GT, but if you just want the Ceed package with a bit more poke, there's a lot to like about it; it's certainly more inspiring and entertaining to drive than the 1.4 T-GDi. Plus, don't forget that it gets Kia's outstanding seven-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard – although it should prove to be impressively reliable anyway.
However, a steep price means the warm Ceed isn't exactly a hot deal. At £25,535, it's £4000 more expensive than our favourite 1.0 T-GDi model and will cost significantly more to run. If you're set on a quick hatchback, the Hyundai i30 N – a genuine scorcher and a brilliant one at that – can be had for hardly any extra cash.
