2019 Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition interior
The Ronseal of limited-run specials, the Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition celebrates 30 years of the world's best selling sports car. But is it worth the money?...
Climb behind the wheel of the Mazda MX-5 30th Anniversary Edition, and you really do feel like you’ve been Tangoed.
There’s bright orange trim around the air vents and on the doors, plus the steering wheel, gear lever and Recaro sports seats all feature orange stitching.
Despite rumours that the choice of colour was inspired by the paint job of the Mazda 787B which won the Le Mans 24 Hours race back in 1991, Mazda insists that it was simply down to a request from would-be customers for something bright and eye-catching.
As in all MX-5s, you sit very low, adding to the sporty feel, but taller drivers might wish the seat slid back farther and feel that the roof is a bit close when it’s in place.
