Traditionally, Porsche T models have had less sound insulation and thinner glass to save weight. However, assuming you choose to have an infotainment system, the Cayman T is no lighter than the regular Cayman.

Adding all of the extras included as standard on the T to the regular Cayman would cost you just over £800 more. Bear in mind, that the wheel, mirror and badge colour is exclusive to the Cayman T and that you can't specify some of the leather trim as an option on the regular Cayman, though. Even so, we don't reckon most of the optional equipment is really necessary and most of the mechanical tweaks won't add a huge amount to your fun levels. We'd add the optional LSD (PTV in Porsche speak) for £926 and leave it at that.

So, where does that leave the Cayman T? If you are planning to add lots of extra kit to your Cayman or just want people to know you've got deeper pockets than a regular Cayman owner, the T is worth serious consideration. Just don't forget to test drive an Alpine A110 before you make your mind up.
