2019 Renault Clio - exclusive reader test team preview
Join What Car? for an exclusive preview of the all-new Renault Clio on Tuesday 14 May in Banbury, Oxfordshire...
It will arrive at its big bash in all-new, fifth-generation guise. The first model to use Renault's latest platform, which should improve its ride and handling, the Clio sports evolutionary exterior styling, with a bigger grille, more sculpted bumpers and standard LED lights. Meanwhile, the new RS Line variant gets an aggressive, hot hatch-inspired makeover.
Inside, the change is even more pronounced. The design is centred around a 9.3in infotainment touchscreen and, for the first time, a digital instrument display (7.0in or 10.0in). Thankfully, however, the air conditioning retains physical controls, while the centre console has been raised to accommodate a shorter gearlever. To top it all off, Renault claims the new Clio's materials are the highest quality you'll find in any small hatchback.
The engines will be 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo petrols and a 1.5-litre diesel, while plug-in hybrid power will be offered from 2020.
If you're interested in the new Clio, which will land in showrooms in the autumn, come along for an exclusive preview on Tuesday 14 May in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
