Aston Martin Vantage V12 breaks cover

Here is the Aston Martin Vantage V12, which the company has described as the most potent car in its 95-year history.

Based on the V8 Vantage, the V12 will be powered by a 510bhp 6.0-litre engine with 420lb ft of pulling power. It has a top speed of 190mph and blasts from 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds.

Aston Martin says the car has been honed for supreme driving performance, and features several race-developed materials and components. As a result, it is only about 50kg heavier than the V8 Vantage, despite having a substantially heavier engine.

However, the car is not without luxuries: electrically adjustable seats, electric mirrors, cruise control and Bluetooth are all standard.

Production will be limited to 300-500 cars a year, with the V12 going on sale in May with the first vehicles to be delivered in the autumn.

It is expected to cost around 140,000, although full details will be confirmed when the car is unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March.
