The fuel economy and emissions ratings for 36 Audi and Seat models have been revised as part of reappraisals undertaken in the wake of the Volkswagen Group emissions scandal.

In total, six Audi A1 variants, four Audi A4 variants and 26 Seat Leon and Seat Ibiza variants are affected, as well as some exampes of the Audi Q3. The most significant change is to the Seat Leon X-Perience SE Technology 2.0 TDI Auto, for which the official fuel economy drops 5.3mpg from 57.6mpg to 52.3mpg, and CO2 emissions rise 10g/km from 129g/km to 139g/km.

The changes are described by the brands as being part of routine updates following checks that are conducted regularly. Audi and Seat say existing owners of the vehicles will not be compensated for the changes because the car’s original certification was conducted legally and that real-world figures have not changed.

However, retail customers with the cars on order will be offered the chance to change to another model or cancel their order free of charge, while fleet customers will receive a "financial gesture" to compensate for the increased tax liability.

Both Audi and Seat have denied they tried to cover up the changes, listed in full below and uncovered following an investigation by Autocar. They published the revised figures in December on official data and fleet customer communications shortly after the parent VW Group issued a statement claiming that investigations into CO2 irregularities had "largely concluded" and detailing CO2 changes to nine VW models.
