Audi A6 Ultra: why it's Britain's best company car

What Car?’s testers have named the Audi A6 Ultra as Britain’s best company car of the moment, after exhaustively testing it against its rivals.

Before we bestow such a title as ‘Britain’s best company car’, we test a vehicle against all its nearest rivals. So, we drove the A6 against the BMW 3 Series, Lexus GS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class on the same UK roads on the same days, and at our test track.

We benchmarked them against each other on motorways, A-roads, B-roads and city roads. We tested their acceleration and braking performance, the noise they generate in the cabin at different speeds, and much, much more. Then we sat down and went through all the numbers in forensic detail, crunching the mpg, the leasing costs, the tax implications and more.

Only then did we deliver our verdict – which many of you will have read in our August 2014 issue. This thoroughness is why we firmly believe that What Car?’s tests really are the most comprehensive, independent tests in the industry.

After we declared that verdict, Audi asked us to make this video explaining how we’d reached our conclusions – and paid us for its creation. Watch on to find out what makes the Audi A6 Ultra Britain’s best company car of the moment.
