The SQ5 gets a more sophisticated infotainment system than lesser Q5s. The 8.3in screen is bright and easy to read at a glance, the sat-nav has live traffic updates, and you and your passengers can even use the car as a 4G wi-¬fi hotspot. What really impresses, though, is how easy the system is to operate; you just twist a dial between the front seats to scroll through the menus and there’s also a touchpad that can recognise your handwriting.
As standard, the GLC comes with a rather basic 7.0in Garminpowered sat-nav. However, we’d recommend upgrading to the 8.4in Comand system (pictured). Even though it isn’t as user-friendly as the system in the SQ5, it doesn’t frustrate too much. Upgrading isn’t cheap (£2995 as part of the Premium Plus pack) but adds plenty of other goodies that will make your GLC easier to sell on in the future, including a punchy Burmester sound system.
