Be the first to see the all-new Volvo XC90

What Car? is offering readers the chance to be among the first in the UK to see the all-new Volvo XC90 up close – and tell us what they think.

The private preview takes place next Monday, October 13 in Kent, from 5.30-7.30pm.

Volvo claims the new version of the popular seven-seat SUV is the most technically advanced and luxurious car it has ever built, as well as the safest.

The new car continues to be the only SUV which gives the best chance of fitting three child seats in a row. It also offers a pop-up booster cushion on the central middle-row seat.

Prices for the new XC90 will start at £45,785 and the range will include a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid that promises more than 100mpg – officially, at least.

Inside, a large touch-screen takes centre-stage on the dashboard, while greater legroom for all occupants includes enough space for those up to 5ft 6in tall in the third row.

Safety features will include technology that automatically brakes the car if it senses an impending collision with another road user – including pedestrians and cyclists – even at junctions. The car can also automatically crawl behind slow-moving traffic, and park itself in both parallel and perpendicular spaces.

The new Volvo XC90 has been a long time coming, arriving 13 years since the first-generation XC90 was launched. So has it been worth the wait? Judge for yourself at our exclusive private preview next Monday evening; your comments will appear in What Car? magazine and online at whatcar.com.
