1. Skoda Superb Estate
As good as the 5 Series Touring is, though, it has to settle for second place on this list, because Skoda's massive Superb Estate strikes the perfect sweet spot of practicality, comfort, low running costs and value. A range of strong and economical engines completes a superb all-round package.

Hyundai i40 Tourer
It comes with lots of standard kit and has decent boot space, but poor interior quality and a range of engines that aren't very efficient keep the i40 Tourer from rising beyond the bottom of this class.
The Subaru Levorg makes some sense if you regularly venture off road or need all-weather traction, but otherwise its high price and fuel-thirsty engine make it impossible to recommend.
