How do you get the best car wax results?
Dean Childs from DC’S Valeting and Detailing has 10 years’ experience of using car wax professionally. Here, he gives some tips on how to get the best results.
“To get the cleanest possible paint surface before you wax it, claying is recommended.
“For the best results, buy a clay bar, break a bit off, massage it into the palm of your hand and work it into the paint one panel at a time in straight lines to remove bonded on dirt.
“To help apply it you can buy some lubricant for the clay . Spray it on the car to lightly mist it before claying.
“Pick a soft, mild clay bar. If you ever drop a clay bar, do not reuse it. It’s so soft that it gathers stones or dirt which you could then very easily scratch onto the paintwork by accident.
“Once you’ve done that, the paintwork will be as smooth as can be, which will make it ready to wax and protect.”
