6. Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé

If you want to take four people in your coupé, you might want to take a look at the two-door Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It’s a sizeable car both in terms of interior space and luggage accommodation, so you shouldn’t have any trouble packing all your holiday paraphernalia into it.

There was a large range of petrol and diesel engines to choose from, but we’d suggest going for one of the four-cylinder diesel engines. This isn’t a sports car, after all, and the extra fuel economy of a diesel will come in handy. Avoid big wheels if possible to get a more cosseting ride.

5. BMW 2 Series Coupé

BMW 2 Series Coupe

Being a relatively small car and having rear-wheel drive, the BMW 2 Series is a great option for those who like driving. It’s even good for those who don’t like paying for fuel, because diesel models are very parsimonious, averaging over 60mpg.

The interior is well screwed together and contributes to the premium feel of the 2 Series. You also get one of the best infotainment systems in the business, which you operate with a rotary controller on the centre console and conveniently placed shortcut buttons surrounding it.

4. Audi A5 Coupé

Audi A5 Coupe

A classy coupé for grown-up people, the two-door Audi A5 is one of those cars that gets under your skin the more time you spend with it. You come to realise that few rivals can match its varied talents: tidy handling, a smart interior, a comfortable ride and great performance.

Like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé, the A5 Coupé will seat four people, but the Audi has the advantage of being a much newer design and having an infotainment system that’s easier to use. You can also get some very high-end technology, such as Matrix LED headlights and the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument display.
