Get big savings on people-carriers

The mystery shoppers at What Car? have rounded up another selection of new-car deals, and this week they've found several fantastic discounts on practical MPVs.

Some of them are large seven-seat people carriers that are also capable of hauling around a load of luggage, while others carry five but are just as adept at slotting in some of the extra stuff that family life demands.

The stand-out deals this week are on a large Volkswagen Sharan, a Ford B-Max with its unusual door layout, a practical Peugeot 3008 and even the small Nissan Note.

The biggest car, and the biggest deal, on the list is the Volkswagen Sharan. The Sharan is often overlooked, because the almost identical Seat Alhambra offers the same quality and practicality for less money. However today's deal redresses that balance.

Drivethedeal.com has a huge £6347 saving on the 2.0-litre TDI 140 in SE trim, which is our pick of the range. This makes the asking price just £22,343, which is cheaper than the equivalent Alhambra.

One of our isssues with the 1.0T 125 Ecoboost engine in the Ford B-Max is that it makes the MPV pricey to buy. However, the £3534 saving in this week's deals makes it much more attractive. The car in question comes in Titanium trim and is available for £13,661 on Drivethedeal.com. For that price you also get the B-Max's sliding rear doors, which allow easy access to the cabin.

Carfile has a decent saving on the Peugeot 3008, at £4032. This brings the price for the 1.6 HDi 115 Access model down to £15,013. Although not the most well-equipped model in the range, the Access brings most of what you would want, and the diesel engine pulls well at low revs.

Finally, the smallest MPV with a decent saving this week is the Nissan Note. If you head to Orangewheels.co.uk then you'll find a £2721 saving on the 1.2 Acenta Premium version, at £11,674. The Nissan's cabin is spacious, and there's a good amount of flexibility from the seats and boot to accomodate a small family's needs.

There are plenty more deals in this week's round-up, check the full list for more information.
