BMW 116d Efficient Dynamics launched

The new BMW 116d Efficient Dynamics has been revealed. Its the most tax-efficient BMW 1 Series yet, with CO2 emissions of just 99g/km.

The 116d Efficient Dynamics has a 114bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine and six-speed manual gearbox, with average economy of 74.3mpg. Its average mpg and CO2 emissions are identical to those of the Audi A3 1.6 TDI start-stop 99 3dr and VW Golf Bluemotion 5dr.

Changes over the standard 116d include lowered suspension, a longer final drive ratio, reduced-rolling-resistance tyres and a gearshift indicator. These tweaks help to improve fuel economy by 11.5mpg and cut CO2 emissions by 18g/km.

The 116d Efficient Dynamics also qualifies for the lowest company car tax rating for diesels (13%) and free road tax.

Equipment is similar to the SE model, with alloys, Bluetooth, USB connection, front foglights and iDrive as standard.

The 116d Efficient Dynamics is on sale from March, priced at 20,885 the same as a standard 116d SE model.
