BMW to release videos of new 3 Series

BMW 3 Series buyers will be able to watch videos of the car on the company's website from next month.

The manufacturer says the films effectively a full walk-around of the new model, with a description of what each trim offers will give it a chance to 'get across the character of the car'.

Three right-hand drive pre-production models will feature in the films on, showing off the Luxury, Modern and Sport trims.

These will sit above ES and SE trims, with the specifications and options giving buyers the chance to personalise their car.

Deliveries of the new 3 Series start in February, with the 328i and 335i petrol cars and the 320d and 320d Efficient Dynamics models the first to arrive.

These will be followed in March by the 320i petrol models, as well as the 316d and 318d. Four-wheel-drive models and the Active Hybrid 3 will arrive later in the year.

The Hybrid 3 high-performance petrol-electric model will be capable of travelling 2.5 miles on electric power alone and is expected to average about 44mpg.

Although the new 3 Series is larger and more spacious than its predecessor, none of the new models is heavier than the one it replaces, and some are up to 50kg lighter.

At the same time, the engines all turbocharged are both more powerful and more efficient than their predecessors. The result is that there will be 24 individual models in the 3 Series range with CO2 emissions of 120g/km or less, bringing lower running costs to private and business users alike.
