Car of the Year Awards 2022: Best family SUV for value
Cars in this class must obviously provide sufficient space for families. However, the best also offer a comfortable ride and tidy handling, and blend gutsy performance with wallet-friendly costs...
Dacia Duster TCe 130 4x2 Comfort

In the case of the Dacia Duster, cheap really is cheerful, because you’re getting so much car for so little money.
You’ll pay less for the Duster than you would for almost any of its rivals, with only the less well-rounded MG ZS coming close on affordability. Even so, you can fit more into its boot than in the Suzuki Vitara’s, for example, and the same as in the rather pricier Nissan Qashqai.

There’s more than just space on offer, though, because the Duster’s 128bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine is gutsy when revved hard yet will also return upwards of 40mpg in everyday driving.
While you might be tempted by the headline-grabbing Essential version of the Duster, which is outrageously cheap but doesn’t come with much at all, we’d steer you towards Comfort models. They get 16in alloy wheels,a reversing camera and an 8.0in touchscreen for infotainment.
