Bentley Continental GT V8

While the BMW 4 Series can do most things brilliantly, if your priority is ultimate luxury – and your budget is big – the Bentley Continental GT fits the bill. As soon as you step inside, you’ll notice that it has one of the most lavish interiors of any car out there, with polished wood or soft leather adorning every surface.

This grand tourer has more up its sleeve than ‘just’ the fixtures and fittings, though. Very few vehicles can waft you along quite so pleasantly, with the air suspension making sure you remain unruffled, even on Britain’s rough roads.

It’s fast, too. Our favoured V8 version of the Continental GT sends 542bhp to the rear wheels for a 0-62mph time of 3.9sec. That’s breathtaking for any car, let alone one that weighs more than two tonnes and treats its occupants like royalty.
