The Ford Focus was the third best-selling car in the country last year, with more than 80,000 cars going to fleet and private buyers.
It was therefore an obvious choice to put to the test on our long-term fleet, and we chose the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, which accounts for around a third of the model's sales in the UK.
The Ford Focus is great to drive and has excellent refinement, but we wanted to see whether everyday life with the car's relatively small boot and hit-and-miss cabin quality would disappoint.
For the past year, the Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost has been in the hands of web test editor Barnaby Jones, and has covered more than 12,000 miles.
Watch Barnaby's video diary to see the things he has and hasn't enjoyed about the Ford Focus over the past 12 months.
