Crash protection
Mercedes has added two new features to its Pre-Safe crash prevention and protection package. Full emergency braking is automatically applied and the seatbelts are tensioned if a crash is considered inevitable. The sensors that the entire system relies on also have increased range and capability.
There are newly designed seats, said to offer better protection and support, along with nine airbags, including two designed to protect the pelvic region of front occupants and another shielding the driver's knees. The two outer rear passengers will get adaptive seatbelt force limiters like the people in front.
