The new Audi A3 Ultra joined the range in May, reducing emissions and costing just a fraction more than the standard 1.6 TDI SE and SE Technik it replaces. Here's how you can save more than £3000 off the cost of a new model.
The car Audi A3 1.6 TDI Ultra SE
The saving £3055
The discounted price £18,061

This A3 Ultra emits just 89g/km of CO2 emissions and boasts a claimed fuel economy of 83.1mpg, meaning that running costs of the premium three-door hatchback should be reasonable. Since it’s just the engine that’s changed in the new Ultra version, the A3 remains one of the best premium hatches you can buy and is as fantastic to drive as ever.
Resale values on the A3 are strong, but the asking price is high, although this discount does help.
While there’s plenty of room up front, the A3 doesn’t offer as much rear space as the Volkswagen Golf and BMW 1 Series, but the boot is well sized.
Should I add any options?
Entry-level SE trim comes with Bluetooth, USB, voice control and manual air-con, and there are a huge amount of options to choose from. These include front and rear parking sensors for £595, cruise control for £225, and dual-zone climate control for £390.
