Lexus revealed the fourth-generation RX at the New York motor show, and the hybrid all-wheel-drive model will go on sale at the end of the year. There are a number of tempting discounts available online via online brokers on the outgoing version, and we’ve found more than £6300 off our favourite model.

You’ll struggle to find a cleaner big SUV than the RX. Its swift V6 engine emits 145g/km of CO2 and has a claimed fuel economy of 44.8mpg, and its capable of running on battery power alone for short journeys. When it is running on the battery, the RX is extremely quiet and it remains so unless you really plant your foot down.
You may baulk at the list price for the RX, but this discount knocks a sizeable chunk off it and resale values are strong as well.
The interior doesn’t quite have the same plushness of its premium rivals that lie in a similar price bracket, and although this is an economical car for what it is, diesel-powered rivals outdo it for efficiency.
Should I add any options?
All versions are well equipped, even entry-level SE trim comes with dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, Bluetooth, cruise control, xenon headlights and rain-sensing wipers.
Anything else I should know?
The quoted price includes a £1000 discount when taking out a PCP finance deal at 5.9% APR representative, if not taking out this deal than add on £1000 to the price.
