Peugeot’s 3008 MPV is a compact family car that still offers good performance and practicality and is now available with more than Β£5500 off its list price.

Its blend of comfort and quality make the 3008 a practical family car, and it comes with plenty of kit in this trim level.

The 1.6-litre diesel engine is smooth and punchy, and is hushed when cruising. It’s also got a claimed fuel economy of 58.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 125g/km.

It sits in a low tax band and is in insurance group 14, which helps to keep running costs down.

The 3008 has a split tailgate and rear seats that can fold to increase the capacity of the already impressive boot.

The Mazda CX-5 is at the top of the compact SUV class and is one of the 3008’s key rivals, but in this deal the Peugeot is more than Β£5000 cheaper to buy than the entry-level CX-5 and has similarly low running costs.

Rear legroom is limited and the ride is a bit firm. This model also misses out on the Dynamic Roll Control system that improves the 3008’s handling through bends.

The 3008 is available at a good price with this deal, but it doesn’t hold its value as well as its key rivals.

Should I add any options?

Active trim comes with lots of equipment, including alloys, automatic lights and wipers, parking sensors, cruise control, powered rear windows and Bluetooth.

A reversing camera can be added for Β£200 but a combined bundle of luxury leather upholstery, heated seats and driver lumbar support cost a reasonable Β£1230 to add.
