The Seat Ibiza does not trouble the class leading Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo but it doesn't do much wrong either. We've unearthed a good deal on the frugal one-litre car which we think is well worth a close look.

The Ibiza benefitted from a recent facelift and it lifted the quality of the cabin and adjusted the specifications to offer better value for money. The ride and handling of the Ibiza is one of its strongest points, and while it isn’t as sporty to handle as the Ford Fiesta, the Ibiza still offers good grip and rides well over most surfaces.
It may be some way off the class leaders in terms of interior quality and space, but the Ibiza is still a sound purchase. The entry-level engine optioned here is best suited to town use.
Should I add any options?
The S specification is basic although it does at least come with air-conditioning and Bluetooth which makes thing feel pretty civilised. Rather than shopping for extras, consider going up to SE specification which this broker also lists, for around £300 extra. That gets you an upgraded colour screen and some scraps of leather trim around the cabin.
