There will be four trim options - Edge, Zetec, Titanium and Titaniam X - and all versions will come with DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and stability control.

Zetec versions start at 16,995 and come with alloy wheels, Quickclear heated front windscreen, leather-trimmed steering wheel and front foglamps.

Titanium cars start at 18,745 and include keyless start, dual climate control, automatic lights and windscreen wipers and cruise control.

Titanium X models cost from 21,245 and include part-leather seats, Bi-Xenon headlights and a powered driver's seat.

Buyers can choose from three 1.6-litre petrol engines and four diesel engines. Ford's Powershift automatic gearbox is available on the 2.0-litre diesel models.

Prices have also been revealed for the estate models, which will cost 1100 more than the equivalent hatchback version.
