The most powerful roadgoing Caterham Seven will appear at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Seven 620R replaces the Superlight R500, and has a new supercharged 310bhp Ford engine. It will cover the 0-60mph dash in less than 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 155mph.
The 620R sports a new, more aerodynamically efficient nosecone and a race-derived cooling system. It shares the R500's rear suspension and wide front track, and rides on lightweight 13-inch alloy wheels.
In the cabin youll find carbonfibre panels, a quick-release steering wheel, performance-oriented instruments, carbonfibre race seats and Caterham's new user-friendly switchgear.
Order books for the 620R are open now, and the first deliveries of customer cars are expected later this year.
A less-hardcore 620S will launch later in 2013, which promises the same performance as the 620R but with greater accessibility.
At the other end of Caterham's range, the company is also to launch an entry-level Seven this autumn. It is expected to cost 15,000 and have an engine that complies with the Euro-6 emissions legislation.
