Volvo XC40 with heated seats

Winter Pack (£500)

Cold winter mornings need not feel so frosty thanks to the Winter Pack, which gets you a fast-clearing windscreen, heated jets to clear the headlights and heated seats to toast your backside. You can add a heated steering wheel and rear seats for £200 more, but we think most buyers won't need to.

Volvo XC40 adaptive cruise control

Intellisafe Pro Pack (£1500)

Although this pack looks expensive, it brings safety aids such as blindspot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert and a semi-autonomous driving system to make long motorway journeys less stressful.

Volvo XC40 metallic paint

Metallic paintwork (£575)

Metallic paintwork adds both visual distinction and value to your car, and with the XC40 there are five colours to choose from. You can pay more for pearl-effect paintwork, but we think it’s better to save your money.
