Jaguar F-Type Convertible vs Mercedes-Benz SL

Our verdict

The Mercedes SL wins thanks to its Swiss Army Knife-like ability to adapt to almost any situation. It’s a great cruiser, with or without the roof down, and is still capable of putting a big smile on your face when the road gets twisty. It’s also considerably cheaper to own for most buyers, comes with more standard kit and is more practical.

The Jaguar F-Type is slightly faster and even more fun to drive on a winding road, but that doesn’t make up for its shortcomings in other key areas.
