Jaguar introduces customer group tests for XE
Customers looking for a Jaguar XE will be able to test up to three of the car’s rivals during a new initiative announced by Jaguar...
Potential customers of the Jaguar XE will be able to conduct their own group test with the car’s main rivals during the first weekend of September.
All four cars occupy the fiercely competitive compact executive market, while the Mercedes C-Class is the tenth best-selling car in the UK this year so far, with more than 25,000 examples registered.
Jaguar claims to be the first manufacturer in the UK to offer customers the opportunity to carry out ‘magazine-style’ group tests at its dealerships.
Jaguar Land Rover’s managing director in the UK, Jeremy Hicks, said: “Our offer is simple: if you are interested in test driving a Jaguar XE, but are uncertain about how it will compare against its key rivals, then contact your local Jaguar retailer and arrange your own personal group test.”
The scheme only lasts for the first weekend in September, and a Jaguar Land Rover spokesman couldn’t predict if it would be rolled out to other models across the two brands.
Jaguar has more than 250 rival cars for customers to test, which will be distributed to dealers across the UK, although demand dictates that not all three rival cars will be available at all Jaguar dealerships; some, for example, may only have one of the three to test alongside the XE.
Jaguar has sold almost 30,000 XEs across the world in 2016, and is a contributor to Jaguar’s 57% growth over the first seven months of the year, compared to the same period in 2015.
