Euro NCAP results

The Volvo S90 saloon and V90 estate have both scored five stars for safety in the latest round of Euro NCAP tests, and are the safest cars ever assessed. However, the Ford Mustang coupé managed just two stars – the lowest rating given to a mainstream car manufacturer since 2008.

Euro NCAP is the independent body that crash tests new vehicles in Europe. However, in addition to rating them out of five, it now gives them a percentage score in four individual areas: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, pedestrian protection and safety assistance systems. Here's how the three cars performed in each area, and how they compare with the cars tested in 2016.
