In the same way that Infiniti acts as Nissan’s premium arm, Lexus has a similar tie-in with Toyota. And since most of Toyota’s models are offered as hybrids, it’s no surprise to see the same from Lexus, although there are some traditional petrol engines, too.

The brand focuses heavily on SUVs – namely the NX and RX – but also has the CT hatchback, ES executive saloon and LS luxury car among its portfolio. More small and large SUVs are expected in the future.

Lexus will recall 3238 vehicles in the UK that could be affected by an engine problem. The fault is in the valve operating system of some Lexus engines and could cause the engine to misfire and possibly stall unexpectedly. There are concerns that the strength of the valve spring could degrade, causing it to break. If this happens, the engine will misfire and the engine warning light will illuminate.

Lexus says that no accidents have been reported in relation to this fault. Recalls The recall will affect the following cars: GS 450h GS 460 LS 460 LS 600h The car maker says no other Lexus models, or any Toyota models sold in the UK, are affected. Worried about your car?
