Maserati Grecale – exclusive Reader Test Team preview
Be one of the first people in the UK to see the new Maserati Grecale SUV in the metal by joining the What Car? Reader Test Team...
How would you like to be among the first people to touch, feel and give your verdict on a new premium SUV long before it appears on UK roads? Well, here's your chance. If you apply to join our Reader Test Team, you could be among a handful to run your fingers over the Maserati Grecale.
Scheduled to go on sale towards the end of this year, the Grecale is a smaller sister to the Maserati Levante and is entering one of the most popular sectors of the UK car market. Established rivals include the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC, but perhaps its closest competitor in terms of character is the Porsche Macan.
Entry-level models will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 325bhp and has mild hybrid electrical assistance to improve fuel consumption and emissions.
Alternatively, if you're more interested in performance than parsimony, you can opt for a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 523bhp to its name. The latter turns the Grecale into a sports SUV with a 0-62mph sprint of just 3.8sec.
To join the What Car? Reader Test Team, you'll need to be able to get to Solihull on 9 September, for 9am. Representatives from Maserati will be on hand to answer your questions, and your views on the car will be published both on Whatcar.com and in What Car? magazine.
