What's the car like?
The Tucson is a small SUV from Korean manufacturer Hyundai. It's a strong contender in this very competitive market, and goes up against big-selling SUVs like the Nissan Qashqai and Honda CR-V, as well as new offerings such as the Seat Ateca.
Even among such stiff competition, the Tucson makes a strong case for itself. It's loaded with standard equipment, with our favourite trim, SE Nav, giving you a comprehensive selection including an 8.0in touchscreen infotainment screen, a reversing camera, 17in alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control and heated seats.
There are two engines to choose from in the Tucson, but our preferred option - and the motor you get as part of this deal - is the 1.7-litre CRDi diesel. It's the best engine in the range, pulling strongly from low down in the rev range. It's also reasonably economical, but is noisier than similarly engined rivals. You can also only have it with front-wheel drive and a manual gearbox.
We've been impressed with both the Tucson's interior space and sensible running costs. If you're looking for premium family transport without a premium price tag, then it should be on your shortlist.
Should I choose any options?
The SE Nav trim you get as part of this deal should have you covered for most situations, but if you're considering touring or towing, a detachable towbar will set you back £390. A set of roof bars will cost you £128.
What are its rivals?
There's plenty of choice in this segment, from market staples including the Nissan Qashqai - a former What Car? Car of the Year - and Suzuki SX4 S-Cross, to more premium offerings such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
Our favourite option in this market is the new Seat Ateca, which is priced from £17,990 - and the Tucson is more expensive, with an entry-level price of £18,995.
