New Dacia Duster vs MG GS

The Dacia Duster budget SUV sweeps up for price. But does the MG GS brush up well beside it?...

Our verdict

Understandably, perhaps, neither car can hold a candle to pricier rivals. It’s definitely worth considering buying a nearly new Seat Ateca or Nissan Qashqai – both of which are superior cars in all areas – if your budget can stretch to it.

But if you want to buy new, it’s the Duster that makes more sense. Not only is it the cheaper car to buy and run, but it also comes with more equipment, has a bigger boot and delivers a more comfortable ride.

Yes, the GS offers punchier performance and more space for you and your passengers, but its higher ownership costs make it hard to recommend.
