New Ford Edge vs Kia Sorento

Does Ford's return to the large SUV sector mean our soft spot for the Kia Sorento will come to an end?...

Our verdict

The Ford Edge is a worthy addition to the large SUV class. It’s decent to drive, offers competitive running costs and is very spacious inside. Unfortunately, it’s let down by a cheap feeling interior, clunky infotainment system and a lack of third-row seating.

So, the Kia Sorento wins, but only by a slim margin. Its seven-year warranty is the longest on the market and it has a far nicer interior and a larger boot. It is a little disappointing to drive, although decent enough.
