New Polestar 2 vs Tesla Model 3: verdict

The all-new, fully electric Polestar 2 is the first direct rival for the hitherto unbeatable Tesla Model 3. Time to see whether the current class champ is in for a shock...

Polestar 2 vs Tesla Model 3 rears

Our verdict

We won’t beat around the bush: the Model 3 wins this dust-up convincingly and remains the most compelling electric car on sale today. A longer range than the Polestar and access to Tesla’s exclusive Supercharger network are big enough reasons alone to choose the Model 3, but when you consider that it’s also faster than its Swedish rival, more fun to drive, smoother riding and roomier inside, it’s easily worth the small price premium.

However, the Polestar isn’t far behind in some of these areas and actually betters the Tesla for interior quality. If you’ve fallen for its looks (we wouldn’t blame you), you’ll be buying a very good electric car, albeit one that’s outclassed by the very best.
